Members must pay their annual subscription before competing in any club events.


Due to the Child Protection Act we are required to strictly enforce the following rule:

Every child under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian over the age of 18 at all times when on club property whether competing or spectating.

DRESS AT ALL CLUB/OPEN SHOWS/INSTRUCTIONAL EVENTS

Riders are required to wear :-

HATS which conform to European Safety Standards

JACKETS Wet weather jackets may be worn in the ring at the Judges discretion & will be announced on the day.

JODHPURS Plain, light coloured.

LONG BOOTS or JODHPUR BOOTS

SHIRT Plain with white tie or stock

GLOVES Compulsory for Dressage

Club Shirts are permitted at Champion Points Shows and Rallies

RUNNERS in lead rein Show Jumping and Gymkhana MUST wear a hard hat and stout shoes when competing.

Whips and spurs may NOT be used in Gymkhana games. In the interests of safety, long hair should be fastened in a hairnet and no jewelry should be worn.

Back protectors and medical armbands are COMPULSORY for cross country and highly recommended for show jumping.

Anyone inappropriately dressed will not be allowed to compete.

The Judges decision is final at all events.



Ages

Children’s ages are taken from 1st January of the current year.

Date of birth must be shown on membership form.

No horse or pony under 4 years of age is allowed to take part in any of our events.

   

Hiring of Facilities

Members on their own horse/pony may hire the Club Field with jumps and subject to the ground being fit to ride on.

TWO adults must accompany members. Cost £5 per horse/pony.

Appropriate fee to be paid when booking the field. Failure to do so will result in the member losing the right to hire the field. Jumps must be put back as found or hiring may be refused in the future.

Members on their own horse/pony may also hire the Hunter Trial course for £5.00 per horse/pony subject to the ground being fit to ride on.
TWO adults must accompany members. A mobile phone should be available for use.

Hiring of either facility for the purpose of giving or receiving lesson is not permitted.

Club facilities are not available to non-members or their horse/pony.



Lead Rein

In the gymkhana/show jumping events, the leader is required to wear a hard hat, gloves and sensible shoes.
The pony must also be lead from the shoulder and if not the combination will be penalised.


Horses

At Open events, horse classes are for horses OVER 148cm

Ex Racehorses

Within class 17 at the May show there will be a separate prize for the best ex-racehorse that competes in the class. Therefore if you have a hunter, hack or riding horse that has raced you are eligible to compete and the best horse on the day will be the winner.

Competitors must bring the horses passport to the show in order that the judge can ensure your horse has been raced. The horse must have raced either point to point, national hunt or on the flat. The thoroughbred must be registered in the Wetherby Stud Book. Foreign bred thoroughbred horses may be accepted if the passport has a Wetherby's or Jockey Club stamp.

Club Championship

At the end of every season there will be a Club Championship Show, the winners of each class becoming the Club Champion for the class for the year.

(Qualification for this show is by attendance on Wednesday evenings, or any other show the Club designates as a “qualifying show”.) Each section has its own separate championship. A horse or pony must be nominated as the one on which competing for the championship, and the rider/pony/horse combination must have competed at least one qualifying round before the Championship Show.

To qualify for the Championship Show, members must have attended three out of the qualifying shows designated.

If a Junior is competes in the Dressage & Show jumping on a horse they may still compete in the gymkhana section a pony.

Novice Dressage Restriction – Combination not to have been placed 1st more than once in any other dressage competition.

Riders must compete in their own age section in gymkhana and dressage.

At all events ponies/horses must be ridden quietly with consideration to other competitors and spectators. Cantering/galloping outside competitive areas is dangerous & not allowed. Lunging only in safe areas.

When riding on public roads, members are reminded to ride carefully and to show courtesy and respect to other road users.

When competing at our Hunter Trials two falls of rider and/or one fall of horse and you must retire from the course.

THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE
